UiTM PRIVATE HEALTHCARE is acquiring a da Vinci Robotic Surgical Assisted equipment. This occasion is a new milestone in the development of Healthcare Services in Malaysia as it will be one of the first robotic surgical system acquisition in an academic hospital with the private healthcare facilities. Its objective are to provide a better healthcare option for public and also increase expertise among surgeons in Malaysia.
da Vinci Robotic surgical system was first introduced in market since 1999 and had been evolving rapidly in term of technology advancement and clinically application. To date, more than 3,000 da Vinci robotic surgical systems has been installed worldwide and millions of surgeries were done robotically in the field of Urology, Gynaecology, cardiac thoracic; general surgery and pediatric surgery.
The high adoption of this technology is because of its proven clinical benefits to patient i.e SHORTER HOSPITALIZATION, REDUCED PAIN & DISCOMFORT, FASTER RECOVERY TIME AND RETURN TO NORMAL ACTIVITIES, SMALLER INCISIONS, RESULTING IN REDUCED RISK OF INFECTION, REDUCED BLOOD LOSS & TRANSFUSIONS, MINIMAL SCARRING. It also gave advantage to the surgeon; ease of use and transcend the current laparoscopic limitations for surgeon to perform surgery with better vision; control and great precision due to the superior 3D high definition vision and seamlessly scales; filter and translates the surgeon’s hand movements into precise movements of the EndoWrist Instruments.
UiTM PRIVATE HEALTHCARE SDN. BHD. together with UiTM Faculty of Medicine are geared towards setting up a ‘Robotic Training Centre’ for the country.
